Could we erase that please?

Hey!

Yesterday was awful. First, okay there was the first football game of the season but the Pats lost! Probably because Julian Edelman is injured… (Okay probably not but let me believe it please).

I got my shifts for working on the IAA in Frankfurt yesterday. I thought I would work everyday but in the end I only work five days! Great, I almost earn nothing. But first of all, I have a class how to behave and what to do then today to which I am on my way right now. It takes seven hours, seven hours of my precious Saturday! The worst is that I have to go to a briefing tomorrow regarding my first shift on Monday. I work for the customer only on Monday and have to spend my Sunday there exactly like the other ones who are working there the whole two weeks, I mean I have to travel there every time and pay my ticket! It would not be so bad if I had to work there all 5 days but just for this one time is a waste of my time and the briefing takes place during the first football game on Sunday! Argh! My mum says I should not go but then I cannot work on Monday and have only four days left. I do not know what to do!

My first job

Hey folks,

I am on my way home from work. I worked at the stadium today during the soccer game VFL Wolfsburg at Eintracht Frankfurt. I did not know at what position I had to work until I arrived there this morning. I got up at 9am because I had to leave at 10:30am if I wanted to be there on time at 12 pm. At the meeting point everyone from the agency met and we got a sheet of paper with all the important information like where and as what we would have to work. I got to know a girl who did it the first time too. She was very nice. Unfortunately we did not work together. We went to the stadium then and through the security control. After that we had to get our working clothes (just a shirt, a hat and a apron because we had to wear a black pants, black socks and black shoes already) and locker key. After that we had to get dressed and to our working place. The girl and I went searching together because at this time we thought we would work together. We got lost but nice security people helped us finding our kiosk. I was lucky, I worked at a little one with just three registersregisterswhich which just sold drinks while she worked in a big one with 6 registers and food and drinks. When I arrived the only one there was my boss. He is a very nice guy who is just one year older than me. We talked a bit about ourselves until the others came bit by bit. My task was to organize the drinks that means that I had to transfer the drinks from the bottle into cups and to tap beer and Apple wine. Fortunately there was a men with the same task because I would not have made it alone especially 45 minutes to kick-off and shortly before and during the halftime break. We sold water, coke, coke zero and light, Apple spritzer, Fanta, Sprite, alcohol-free and beer with alcohol, shandy and ice tea. Wow, you cannot imagine how much the people wantwho to drink. After the game we had to note all the things which were left and clean up. I started working at 1pm and was finish at 7:45pm but it was fun and during my two breaks I was even able to watch the game! Unfortunately Frankfurt lost.

Super Bowl 51

Good morning, I did the impossible. I stayed awake and watched the whole Super Bowl and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Originally I wanted to watch the PreShow on ProSiebenMaxx from 20:15pm – 22:55pm but my mum sat alone on the couch and watched Kitchen Impossible, which I like to watch, too, and I felt bad for her being so alone so I watched it with her until 22:55 pm but then I went to my room because I was “sooooo tired”. I grabbed a Coke, some strawberries, some potato bread, chocolate and cookies and turned on my fairly lights and started watching the Super Bowl. I went to my room to watch the PreShow while Kitchen Impossible was interrupted because of advertisements. Later I was glad that I hadn’t watched it because some videos were repeated while they waited for the super Bowl so it was not bad but rather good that I have not seen the show. One of my favorite commentators was in Houston for the Super Bowl, the coach of the French National American Football Team, Patrick Esume. He is pretty cool and funny and almost all the time very euphoric. Commentating the game were Frank Buschmann, who I cannot stand anymore, he shouts the whole time and tries to be funny very hard, so I am not soooo sad that this was his last Super Bowl as commentator although the chemistry between him and Esume was great. Icke Domisch and the German NFL player Markus Kuhn were there as well although they both were quiet and almost said nothing.

It was very hard to not eat all the snacks before the game started at 00:30 am on Monday morning. Well like you know I rooted for the Patriots #GoPats and was almost 100% certain they are going to win. The first quarter was a bit disappointing because they made both no points, well, it was excited at least. When the Falcons made 21 points in the second quarter while the Pats only scored 3, I was not so convinced that New England will win anymore.

During the second quarter my parents went to bed. Their bedroom is next to mine and the bathroom is opposite to my room. In addition to that, they always look after my sis and me, probably to check if we really are asleep. That was a dangerous situation. I had to turn off the TV for almost 20 minutes and had to follow the game through Social media. (For all my German speaking followers the link to my Twitter profile where I was busy with tweeting throughout the game) But there I had to be careful as well because they are able to see light shining under my door. Somehow I managed to not get caught (or at least I think so but I am not sure because my mum asked how Lady Gaga’s halftime show was at breakfast the next morning).

I cannot understand why everyone thinks Lady Gaga’s half-time show performance was unbelievable. Okay the jump from the roof was awesome and she sings good live but her performance was not that special. I have seen the one from Coldplay last year (yes, although I fell asleep some time during the second quarter) and their performance was amazing. #Sorrynotsorry I refilled my snacks and drinks, too, to be ready for the second half.

The second half was spectacular and I could not believe that the Pats were able to come back after being down. I already thought about going to bed because I was almost totally sure that they couldn’t make it but gladly other than some others I did not quit watching because I still had the spectacular game Cowboys vs Packers in my mind and I thought the Super Bowl is something special I have to watch it until it is officially over. I am so glad that I watched it to the end although the next day, scratch that, the whole week was terrible because I was so unbelievably tired! 😉

What next?

Hi there,
I am still here, do not worry!

I do not know if I told you about my plan spending a year abroad as an Au Pair in the US this year after my A-Levels because you know that I always want to go to the US and that living in the US is a dream of me. My blog post about how badly I want to visit the US sometimes. I was so confident about the idea that I never thought it would fail. To be an Au Pair you need at least 200 hours of childcare experience which I have with my two internships in kindergarten. The problem is that it must not be older than 3 years and one of it was in January 2014 and with that 3 years ago. I hoped it would still count but my interviewer told me yesterday after I did all the things which were needed ( a medical form completed by a doctor – I even had to be x-rayed -, a character reference, two childcare references – I crazed the kindergarten because I wanted them to hurry because I knew it would become tight, so I even sent my aunt there because she said they should not be the reason why I am not able to do it. But they were not fast enough. -, a lot of copies of official documents like my passport, a criminal record and the thing which was extremly time-consuming and which made a great effort was the application video which was very hard to film and cut and edit. I am very disappointed and there is no chance how I can get to missing hours especially not a few weeks before my A-Levels! I want to concentrate on good A-Level results rather than on desperatly trying to make my year abroad become reality. I mean I was never so sure about it because it would be a long time I would not be at home. Although I think it would have been a great distraction from home.
Okay, I have cried for a short time when I read the message but now everything is fine. I still have not told it anybody.
The good thing is there is still something I can work for: a journey to the US although I am not sure I want to be there when Trump is president. Well, then I have to wait four more years but that is not much regarding the time I have dreamed about it already!
In the meantime I am going to be a student, the only problem is I have no clue what I want to do later and with that I do not know what to study! Because of this the year abroad would have been a great chance to think about it.

Have a nice weekend.
Becca ♥

Happy 3rd of October! – 25th anniversary

Good morning!
My plans for today: After school I collected my glasses and we drove to my grandmother. I am really looking forward to go to the fest in Frankfurt! Even one of my acquaintance makes a trip with her class to Frankfurt because of the Einigkeitsfest. The light show at 9pm is said to be awesome. My grandmother does not wanna come with us. I will let myself surprise. It is unbelievable for me that Germany was spilt in 2 parts once.2000px-Deutschland_Besatzungszonen_8_Jun_1947_-_22_Apr_1949.svg
After WWII the winners (USA, Soviet Union, France and GB) were divided over their political interests USA, France and GB founded the Bundesrepublik Deutschland (BRD) and the Soviet Union the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR). The BRD orientated itself to the West, that means with the help of the USA by the currency reform and the Marshall plan got the living standards higher in the BRD.

The system of government of the DDR became socialism. The party who decided for the country in the interests of the Soviet Union was called SED. To secure that they keep the power, the founded the Staatssicherheit (Stasi). Its tasks were to chase and suppress political opponents. The DDR got all public ground and introduced the Fünfjahresplan, which regulated the distribution and the production of food for 5 years and the Planwirtschaft, which should prevent a gap between poor and rich. The Fünfjahresplan did not work out so the work got harder but for less money. This caused demonstration for a new government, which were terminated by the Soviet Union.

The USA wanted to thwart the communism which was spread by the Soviet Union. Not only this aspect but also the Alleinvertretungsanspruch, which said that the BRD is the political power of both countries, with that the BRD did not accept the DDR under international law. They were tributary to two totally different countries with different goals. Although Stalin suggest that BRD and DDR could be united again the BRD declared this offer because it was afraid to get a socialistic system of government, too. Because of their differences and to prevent that more people move to the BRD because of the higher living standards there the DDR builded the Wall at the 13th of August 1961. And it got very difficult to leave the DDR.

The new Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt tried to approximate to the DDR.Willy Brandt, Bundeskanzler zwischen 1969-1974
He did not want that the contact between the citizens of each countries break.More and more other countries accepted the DDR and the BRD was resolute to act. They both accepted each other through the Grundlagenvertrag. It accepted the borders and the policy for a peaceful cohabitation were generally agreed. The goal of the BRD was one united nation with the DDR. In 1973 DDR and BRD became part of the United Nations.
The general of secretary of the DDR Erich Hoenecker was concerned that the much visitors weaken the cohesion of the DDR and he wanted to isolate the DDR so they tried to ban the word Deutsch (German) from everything which was official and expanded the Stasi.

At the communal vote 1989 the citizens were able to vote for candidates of just one party. Everyone who wanted to use a polling both were suspected to be a political opponent. This was the time when the people protested about the vote fixing and the whole system. Hoencker had to step down but the even the new government was not able to stop the Montagsdemonstrationen (protests every monday).  So the borders got opened and the Wall fell on November 9 1989.

The basic things were set and the winner of the WWII had to agree on the unification of BRD and DDR. So France, USA, GB and after long negotiations even the Soviet Union and also DDR and BRD signed the Zwei-plus-Vier-Vertrag. The Einigungsvertrag allowed the unification of BRD and DDR on October 3 1990. Because of this we celebrate like the Americans the 4th of July on October 3 our Tag der Deutschen Einheit.

If you wonder what was the national holiday before (like me) it was the 7th October (the founding of the state after WWII) in the DDR and the 17th June in the BRD to remember the demonstration in the DDR 1953. In the National socialism was it the 1st May (Day of work) because Hitler decreased the number of unemployed a lot. Before that in the Weimarer Republik was it August 11 because on this day was the constitution signed. (1919)

So for all have a nice saturday und für alle Deutschen: einen schönen Einheitstag und ein schönes Fest (egal wo Berlin, Frankfurt,…)! 😉

Yo!

What’s up?
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy with school! This week I wrote the first exams: German and music. German was actually pretty good. We wrote 3 hours about the Jungfrau von Orleans by Schiller. We had to analyze a monologue. I finished it just in time. And music, let’s talk about something different!
The worst: I will write 4 exams next week!
Today was technically a good day: Okay I missed the train and came an hour too late but I talked with my seatmate, she is very nice! And with my former classmates. I do not know what has happened… And I walked together with Jana to the train station and we even talked!!!
Okay I had much homework but who cares? I ordered a movie, the new Cinderella one and two books: All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr and The host by Stephenie Meyer (I love this book, I have read that a thousand times in German and want to read it now in English;)) at Amazon. Moreover I found a lot of books I would like to read, I just have to earn much money. I am really excited. It allegedly arrives at tuesday.
What are you doing at the weekend? https://i0.wp.com/www.bundesrat.de/SharedDocs/bilder/DE/logos/tdde15-he-logo.jpg

Germany celebrates Tag der deutschen Einheit at saturday with a big festival in Frankfurt and my family and I plan to go there because we have relatives there, where we can stay. I am really looking forward to that.
Good night (Europe)!

Made it! :D

Hi!
First things first: I’ve made it, I don’t have to stay down a year! At the half of this year I had in 5 subjects (history, biology, maths, PE and music) too bad grades. But somehow I managed to improve all my grades except of PE but that is okay bc it was my only bad subject. So I am happy and looking forward to get holidays tomorrow!

In the holidays (in Germany it lasts 6 weeks) in the first week I am going to redecorate and clean up my room. Maybe I am going to do something with  my mother too, my sister is with the scouts in Austria the first and second week. The second week I want to meet my friends. Unfortunately there are all in vacations in the third week. I will go with my family to Southern France in the fourth and fifth week and in the sixth week I will do something for school like sorting and archiving my school things from last year and prepare it for the new one.
What’s about you? What are you doing in your (summer) break?

To react to my last post Summer: The party was a bit boring because only the parents of my uncle and my family was invited. We had a barbecue and the rest of the time my cousin Kira and I watched horror movies – we love it, although I know, I know I wrote that I don’t like horror movies not a long time ago…! We watched The Ring and Pet Sematary (Friedhof der Kuscheltiere). The movie review I am going to post in a moment… It was funny.
I said I would post about our camping trip: We went camping for two days and one night. We took the train and the bus and did not have to take our luggage with us because our tutor came late and brought it with her. It was really hot and we made a hike through the mountains. It was soooo exhausting and took 3 hours. After that we went to a restaurant and I ate a Salami pizza <3. Then we went to the camping side and welcomed our tutor and set up our tents. After that we started our barbecue and sat around the bonfire and ate our food we brought with us. The night was relaxed because everybody went to sleep but unfortunately I was alone in the tent because my partner got ill. The next day we ate breakfast and went asap home. This time everyone had to carry his/her things. The trip was okay.

Something different: While I am running – it is my most creative part of the day – I thought about what I could post on the blog and thought I should post 2 times a month my favorite recipes because I really love to cook and bake. What do you think?
And I want to write about something I really like once or twice a month…
Sounds great doesn’t it?
